His Grace, Bishop NIKOLAI escorts the Wonderworking Icon of the Sitka Mother of God to the Kuskokwim. The icon visits the parishes of St. Nicholas Church in Kwethluk, St. Sophia Church in Bethel, Holy Trinity Church in Kasigluk and St. James Church in Napaskiak. Over 2000 people venerate her.

In Kwethluk, hundreds came to venerate the icon of Our Lady of Sitka. Even members of the villages with small non-Orthodox populations came to receive her blessing. Lines formed in the narthex waiting for opportunity to kiss the Wonderworking Icon.

In Bethel, the largest city in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, the Roman Catholic Church had to be borrowed for the service, because the numbers would have not fit in the Orthodox parish building in Bethel.

In Kasigluk, hundreds gathered from the surrounding villages in order to receive the blessing of the icon and of His Grace, Bishop NIKOLAI.
Archimandrite Isidore preached after the Akathist service in Each village.
Napaskiak, a year after a major renovation project, joyfully welcomes the icon. The famous Napaskiak choir sang the akathist hymn.
Napaskiak Village Police provided transportation for the visit
