Blessing of the Pokrov Chapel Icons

Iconographer Protodeacon Nazarii Polataiko from Winnipeg has been working on writing the Icons for the Pokrov Chapel in St. Innocent Cathedral for some time. They were finally unveiled on Sunday April 13, 2008 to everyone's delight. He uses traditional egg based paints that he makes himself and decided to give the icons a blue background as they were to go in the chapel dedicated to the Theotokos.
