St. Nicholas Church
113th Anniversary of Consecration
Juneau, Alaska

June 22-24, 2007


His Grace Bishop Nikolai was in Juneau to celebrate the 113th anniversary of the consecration of the historic church, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. June 24, 2007 was the 113th anniversary to the day of the consecration of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Juneau, Alaska by the ever memorable Bishop Nikolai of Alaska and the Aleutians.

Blessing of the new cross at the historic Russian Cemetery in Juneau. A previous cross was destroyed by vandals.
There was also a lity for the departed as the founding member of the parish are buried in the area. The cross blessing also marked the renewed efforts of the parish to care for the cemetery instead of depending on the city to keep the weeds down.
