The 2007 Clergy Retreat was held in Anchorage at St. Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral on March 6-8, 2007.
The theme for the retreat was "Reviving our Ministry". Each session was led by a faculty member from St. Herman Seminary. Roundtable discussions followed each session in which the clergy were able to share their experiences and look for ways to grow in the areas covered by each topic. The interaction during these times proved to be one of the highlights of the retreat.
The retreat included the following sessions:
Reviving our Youth Ministry ~ presented by Priest Innocent Dresdow (Instructor in Christian Education)
Reviving our Preaching ~ presented by Priest John Dunlop (Instructor in Liturgics & Old Testament Scriptures)
Reviving our Priesthood ~ presented by Archpriest Chad Hatfield (Dean, Professor in Christian Ethics, Homiletics & Pastoral Theology)
Reviving our Spiritual Life ~ presented by Reader Paul Sidebottom (Associate Dean of Academics, Instructor in Church History & Spirituality)
Services included an opening Molieben, Hierarchical celebration of the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts & morning Lenten Matins.
The Sisterhood of the Cathedral offered wonderful lenten meals & hospitality, helping to make the retreat a truly refreshing experience
